Windsurfing: Felixstowe-Fludyers Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 20-25 Surf / Sea State: rolling to rough Air Temperature: 21 Sea Temperature: 15 Weather: sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered:
What a great day. Yesterday I was in a winter suit and today a shortie. I
woke up to a warm wind and with it forecast to run a bit westerly made my
way to the Dip at 10:15. It was cross-shore but as forecast to go westerly
Roger and I went to the Fludyers and a few other turned up, reporting Dip
went well off-shore, so good move there. I went out with 5.2m and for a
few seconds the world speed record was in danger until I did the sensible
thing and changed down to 4.7m. Sailed off and on totalling around 2 hours.
Wind was a little up and down, but 95% of the time well powered on 4.7m.
Sea was bit rough but actually quite nice with some rollers and breaking
waves over the shifting sandbanks. Gave up around 2:30pm when the wind
started to shift offshore, and Phil and Chris struggled ashore down-wind.
gave up just in time.
It was the first real summer's day, with sun, warm wind and sea. Let's hope
it is the promise of more to come.
